Suddenly not walking, totally lethargic!!

Hey. This girl was totally fine yesterday and found her laying in her coop unable to stand today!!! She's completely lethargic.

Breathing normally. I could not feel an impacted crop. What to do or check?!

How old is she? Can you try to get her drinking some water or electrolytes? What are her poops like? If ahe is young, she could be dehydrated or suffering from coccidiosis. Corid from the feed store can treat that.

She's just about laying age. I don't think she's laid yet. She doesn't keep her eyes open either.

I haven't seen any bloody poos or anything like this. The other 7 hens are acting normally and their environment is as clean as it could be...new flock/coop 2.5 weeks ago.

She may have had a stroke.

My neighbor examined her and she had a temperature. She felt it was viral and bacterial. Gave her some abx. Perked up for a minute and then passed away.

Neighbor is recommending iodine in the water for rest of the hens.

This is 2.5 weeks into having chickens. I never expected to have to dig a hole already.
