I once heard that if you have an injured chicken, it was a good idea to give it warm water with salt and sugar in it. Not in huge ammounts or anything, but enogh to tell they are both there (in the water). I think it messes with the electrolyte process or something. I know there are so may meds out there for injured chickens, but I wanted to know about this remedy. Has anyone else heard this? Lemme know your thoughts.

Well sugar is probably for the pure energy it has in it, and the salt is probably to try and get the water to be more similar to physiological fluids. If your bird is dehydrated though, I'd think the salt would work to dehydrate more since birds don't quite use it the same as mammals. I would just use plain clear water and keep the injured bird cleaned up and calm.
