Sugar water

How much sugar should you add to a quart of water, for day olds?

Are they shipped? I would be stingy on that and withdraw it after a day or two or they'll have very runny poop. I'd put no more than a Tablespoon or two in a quart of water myself. If they aren't shipped, they don't need it. Actually, I dont even do it for shipped chicks unless they seem very stressed.

They will be shipped chicks, they will arive on feb 14th.

Well, then if you feel they need it, you could put that amt I mentioned in the water and if they're perky after 24 hours, give them fresh water without the sugar in it. Nice Valentines' Day Gift!

I dont know if I need it or not. I just read some threads, that say it gets them of to a good start.

Sfisher Hi: I use honey, 1 tablespoon to a qt. of water for 2 days. Fresh each day. This has worked well for me. Good luck, JB
