I am a big mille fluer fan. I think the hens are just gorgeous. Believe me there is never a dull moment without them! The ones I know have gotten through a Michigan winter in good shape. When the mille fleurs run they look like clowns with those big shoes on due to the feathers on their feet. Bantams are in no means a prima donna. I have seen the mille fluer hens I know take on any standard hen. They are hardy, free range with the best of them, great little layers and broodies. The ones I know have hatch standard egg chicks. In fact 3 of them sat together in one nest of the eggs. I would never want to have a flock without a couple of mille feur hens. They make me laugh so.
