yep sure is, but it happens all the time, and yep once they leave the small town we're in it's all on to major hubs where it's all automated and like Stoney said, Lord help you there. I have also found that for me Texas seems to be the absolute worst on them, not sure what they do there, may be all college kids?? LOL.

Sarge,

I know the things you are talking about too, but they'd just show you that they shook the crap out of them, which a ruptured air cell will too. They wont replace them for any reason. Mine has a huge sign in the main lobby saying fragile items are to be shipped and packed accordingly and that no claims for damage will be excepted unless insurance is purchased and the box is smashed flat more less.

a lot of the times, the air cells get popped from small vibrations though. hundreds of miles vibrating in a truck or plane. They slowly get loosened, then the slacker the membrane gets, the more motion the ocean has, and before long it just gives in and pops.

Heres some updated pics of my little group of Sumatras:) I'm pretty sure they would qualify as SQ. As soon as the spurs come in a little more I will make an attempt at showing them

The feet bottoms are completely yellow! Couldnt load a pic of that part, not sure y

And some half Sumatra/Crested blue Polish!

wanted to see if any of you know some one with some nice bantam black and blues males they'd want to sell. Looking to add to mine a bit, got tons of nice girls, just need a few nice males to add to them now... any leads would be great

thanks

So how are Sumatras as layers? I want a "wilder" breed but I do need eggs too. I know they're not production birds but can anyone give me an idea? If they lay at all in winter that would be great.
mine are mostly really good layers. 5 to 6 eggs a week and yes all winter long from many of them. A lesser amount in the winter, but yes eggs from them all winter long.
