Sumatra Thread!

Quote: Really that is cool I wish I could go. Some old sumatra breeder told me why the splash have not been reconized yet. They come in many different shades of splash like some will be darker and others will be lighter. and my splashes they start out with green legs but as they get older they turn dark again.

Ramirezframing, no current pics of the khaki, he has been outside all summer and looks like a brassy white since he bleached out. I am out doing chores right now and I can't wait for some of these young birds to mature. Seeing them move so gracefully on the lawn is awesome, lots of good looking birds

FMP.......is this a common thing with the Khakis? Does this also occur
with the duns, blues, splashes? maybe it is a reason for it taking so
much for them to be accepted to the show ring? just some thoughts

Sorry to hear that about his color, but good to know if I ever do breed my duns together. I enjoy seeing my youngsters run around the yard also, but it can be hard on the tomatoes in the garden.

interesting to know........would this apply to the dun sumatras as well?
could they earn recognition if enough breeders worked for it?

Can't hardly wait until sumatras are on CSU.
I know I have been eagerly awaiting for this section as well as a few others since they started CSU! I have learned alot there, and hope to learn alot more.

Fowlman01, If they except the large fowl sumatras in the BB red color, will this make it easier for when the people working on the bantam sumatras in the BB red color to get it excepted as a bantam color also?

Yes, that would help.

There are people here in Cali that are working on the brown red bantams and I believe that is for the ABA and APA, but I'm not sure and I don't know how close they are. The ones I have seen out here need a little more work.
