Sumatra Thread!

I'm waiting for the dun rooster to finish his molt so I can get some good pictures of him for CSU before the sumatra section comes up there. And hopefully get some better pictures of the others as well, but if the sumatra section comes up before than, I have some pictures that will work.

Who all plans on posting their sumatras on the CSU thread?
Where did you get your dun?

His tail needs to be like a straight line with his back how you can tell if it is horizontal. Also it is very good way to see if he has a nice good straight back. I hope I spelled straight right.

I thought that the question was about all parts of the tail, not just the main feathers.

the discussion is about the interpretation of the SOP on
tail carriage in the roosters. The tail should be carried on
the horizontal plane where the back should be
" Long, broad at the shoulders, narrowing slightly and sloping
gently to tail, with very long, full. flowing saddle feathers." quoted
directly from the Standard of Perfection 2010
it is interesting how each breeder interprets the terms in this book.

What is CSU?
"CSU, chicken state university large fowl" I think is the whole thread name. They are going through the different large fowl breeds by class and telling the good and bad. Basically you can use it to look for good and bad points in a breed whether looking at your stock or looking to buy some stock of that said breed. I've learned alot from it. I figured the more people that post whats good and bad in their birds, the more everyone can learn about what ever breed they are looking to get or have, which is why we should all post our birds and all. The rules on what to do are on the first page of the thread.

This is a little Banny hen we got from some ppl across the street. Kinda new to the whole chicken thing .. Wondering if this is a Sumatra. In the sun she has a lot of green and purple in her. She lays every other day.. When she gets protective or excited her face goes from almost a grey to blood red. Her name is Frank... Lol Frank Sumatra.

Yeah, I figure she is some kind mix, she has abit of brown in her wing tips. Here's a better pic. I had to use a filter to get her colors to show up.. They aren't near that vibrant in real life.
