He is a pretty bird whether you think he looks gamey or not.
If you are calling him gamey because he is standing more upright,
that could be because he looks like he is excited. The SOP here
does not say they should not be upright. It says they have a distinct
carriage, pg. 184, 2010 edition. It also says for body-- moderately long,
firm, muscular, tapering slightly to tail. pg. 185 2010 edition, but you
should go by the SOP for your country.

Raph, Roy is looking good, what do you plan to do with him?

Well, I took the kids on the track hunting walk in the woods beside our house that we do every time we get more than just a dusting of snow. They had a blast. We seen different sized bird tracks, a rabbit, a dog who we could hear baying somewhere off in the woods, squirrel, and different dig spots from them. Took some pictures, but my computer and I are fighting at the moment so not too sure when I will be able to get them on.

I want to get Roy a couple of rhode island hens, and I'll try some hybrids.ill cross him with the Sussex.

It is cold here I hope we get some snow, because snow is a day of school. Ramirezframing it sounds like you had fun, looking forward to photos. :)
Who else has snow?

Birds are doing well and we have approximately 8-9 inches of snow. In this last storm we only got a dusting but had gotten close to 10 inches within the last 2 weeks.

Although snow is not unusual for here it seems there
are lots of folks who just don't know how to slow down
or relax and enjoy it as it is usually gone in a few days.
The DOT here really does not know how to plow the
roads effectively either.....makes for a mess.

I'm starting to think that my area DOT crews are taking a snow day, as my road wasn't pretreated and still hasn't been plowed. But it doesn't matter much to me, I aint driving in it any. I just can't wait for the day to all of a sudden catch up to the kids and they just pass out.

I can understand kids being all excited about playing
in snow. It rarely snowed where I grew up in California but
once I got my license I would take my younger brother and
sister up to the mountains so we could enjoy a day of snow
and sledding. My kids always had fun in the snow when we
lived in Michigan and it's always so pretty when it is fresh.
