Sumatra Thread!

I have to admit, even though I grew up here, it's pretty funny to me also. Yet, even with 90% of things closed, there's still like 60% or more of people who just have to drive in it even though they don't know how and most of them will have an accident of some type. Which is why for the most part I don't go anywhere when it's snow or ice. Glad to hear that some of your birds are starting to lay.

I have read that there's a hatchery selling them. From the few pictures that I have seen, I don't like a frizzled sumatra. I have only seen pictures of young hens. I have a few frizzles, but not sumatras. I don't think yours is really a frizzled, as I have never seen one that "flat" so to say unless they are damp/ wet. But frizzles do come in varying degrees of curly feathers.

Quote: It could be the way the of the photo or the size of the bird. I have good news, my nice aunt got me a nice scale 4 weeks ago. She had heard from my mom that I was looking for a scale. I started to weight all my birds. Most of them fit the standard weight. I do have two males that are 5.6lbs is that to fat? My females are in good shape. It is one of those sensitive scales.

Quote: Thanks! I am glad I weight all my birds, because a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders.

I have been so worried that they were to fat, but I guess I needed to trust myself and the breeders I got the parents from a little more.
