a few have white wing tips , is this normal? might those feathers turn black later? do I not breed those, are they culls? he has white wing feathers his bro is solid black
How old are they 3-4 months? They should lose those first molt. I have had adults with a touch on the wing primaries which isn't a disqualification but is a negative trait to try and cull out. I've heard white tips can be either genetic or even stress when the feathers are developing. Don't quote me on that though

hello DS, my birds are 2months 9days I got them june 1st. most are solid black but a few have white wing tips.

Most black birds have some white wing flights as juveniles, but as stated above by Dsfrango, this should molt out before or with the first adult molt.

im keeping 1 possibly 2 of the solid black males for my self. "EL BRUTO IS MINE FOR SURE" when the rest go to their owners I want to give them the facts. so basicly I will tell them white wing tips are not exactly SQ

they are feisty towards each other so I imagine a little stress in the mix. are sumatras game enough to the point that I have to separate the cockrels?

I wouldn't worry about the white until after that first molt. If they still have white I'd suggest culling if your really going for show lines and you have some better cocks without the white. If they grow together they can be docile towards one another. They are a "gamey" breed but not aggressive in my experience except towards being introduced at adulthood. That's tough to do but I've done it so it's definitely possible with enough coop space and roosts

Is it like an enclosed coop built into a run? I had a 16x8 8 feet tall with roosts with a couple deep shelves and it was good

yes my ply wood is side by side with a partialy chicken wire roof . I have lower and higher crisscrossed roosts and will soon be adding some shelves wich I at first had over looked but will correct soon. its a big cube with a side coop that will be connected once the sumatras are big enough and the chicken wire window in between is removed
