Sumatra Thread!

What's the weather like with you?
Here it is cold wet and windy, it's quite miserable. It's even more depressing having school tomorrow.
What have you guys been up to?
How are your chucks?

Well it's good to hear that only two of your birds have pox and not all but two! That's good news :)

My spring was a little wetter than normal and the summer started off very wet, than it dried out. We didn't get as hot as we normally do either. Its been rather cloudy and grey for the last few weeks here. Pretty sure we are gonna get snow this year as the road crews just put down the reflectors on the road. This happens every year that we end up with snow and the road crews come and plow the roads (removing 90% of the reflectors that they just put on within the last 6 months).

For us it has been very very dry, It has also been really cold and windy. The winds blow up dust and dirt the bad thing is it gets in your mouth and eyes.

I hate when it gets that windy! I have been really busy preparing my sumatra's for the show. I have been coop training the youngsters, I have been feeding my sumatra's a special feed for three months so that they look good for the show. I started worming and de-liceing them. I am keeping them in conditioning cages so that they don't get any of their feathers busted up. I have to let them out very week just to keep them happy and to get some sun. I also clean their cages out once a week to keep them healthy and help keep the feather lice at bay.
