I love my chicks ,the people that sent me my chicks breed for show quality if I remember correctly

Oh from Sq stock well then you should get at least a few good birds, way better odds than my failed hatchery hunt in town... Good on the matching up with the nubs! It will be fun to see how they mature out. I hope to some day have a few Sumatras, but I had to compromise on breed choice this time around... that's okay my current chicks are guinea pigs for new things I am trying this time around with keeping... plus I am happily surprised at how dark one of the pullets is maturing (she will not be black, but may end up with a ton of traits I wanted).

There are several people who have already done this cross. You might be able to find some for sale. Through, since you mentioned that you got your sumatras from show stock, are you planing on showing your sumatras some?

I wasn't planning to show my birds ,have to wait till they get bigger to decide but if I do the del mar fair is the only place I can think of . I will have to look into it

yes, I think that's maranfarmer also has eggs for $20 each.

ive considered getting a couple but I would rather get them a few months old . fibro sumatras that is.

If you decide to show, be careful not to cross your breeders/ show stock with the fibro crossed sumatras as it would make them DQ. Sumatras should have yellow skin, thus the yellow on the underside of their feet. Good luck with your birds no matter what you decide to do with them.

chicks are only 17 days old today and I saw them fighting pretty agressivly, is this normal ? will they settle in a pecking order or will they become more aggressive towards each other as they get older?
