Summer Quilt block swap - We use similar colors, but each pick a different block

I have 3 more to go. It's a good thing someone posted on here or I would have forgot.

We came back from vacation to a refrigerator that didn't work, our pool is disguising.

I need to get these done this week and I will work on the rest tomorrow when my DH goes back to work.

I'm working on just adding to the outside edges of my blocks to make them 12 x 12 instead of a complete redo. Besides, I got some awesome chicken fabric from Australia the other day, and I'm naturally keen to use it!

I'll have mine done by end of the month for sure, and you know what? I'm glad! I'm sooo looking forward to making this into a quilt. I wish we'd thought to have everyone sign or inital or name their BYC names on the bottem edge of each block, to remind us of our BYC quilt making buddies! I can't wait, seriously. Hope we all get our quilts done and can post the pics for sure.

my blocks are in the mail as of yesterday! it's kind of nice to have a break from it, before the blocks get sent back. I've been on a kick to make clothing again.....

I understand. I just bought a new sewing machine to get onto customizing and sewing clothes for the DD who is leaving religious school and entering junior high.

That sounds exciting. When I was in school, my mom had to make my uniforms for private school. Those uniforms were horrible, no offence to mom.....
I do a lot of historical reproduction clothing. My last big project was a civil war era top and skirt, complete with hoops, for my wedding.

Thats sounds very cool! When we married, I had to make Kilts (DH is scottish) for him and his brothers. I love historic sewing! Can you post a pic of your dress?
You must have sewn the pleats into the kilt - a friend has one like that the he uses for curling. His dress kilt is yards and yards of fabric that has to have the pleats ironed into it every time he wants to wear it. His wife makes him iron his own darn kilt! She does iron the kilts for their two boys though. She bought the boys sport kilts for Christmas last year (no ironing), since they began a junior curling league.

I did use my pleating attachment, and it really helped, cause I needed almost 8 yards of Kennedy Tartan. Oh, and Im allaergic to wool, so i wore long sleeves and gloves sewing in June. I don't iron, I steam. :D
