Sunflower Chickens

I've got tons of chicks hatching over the next couple of days, with 7 under a broody Silkie, 16 under a broody Chantecler, and another 50+ in several incubators. I think I'll have to turn that silly red bulb back on, because even 2 Brinsea EcoGlows won't have enough space to keep that many chicks warm with the 20+ already in the brooder.

Hi ladies.
Renee, it sounds like you will have your hands full of sweet little babies. What kind of Chanteclers do you have? How do they lay?

I have Partridge Chantes, and I'm working on Columbian and Black. It's just at the beginning of those projects, though. They lay okay for the most part, but they go broody worse than Silkies and bantam Cochins combined!!

Yes, I just got my 2nd broody Silkie out of 5 tonight, and ALL of my Chantes have gone broody in that same time frame. 4 of them!!

It's just nuts!

HELLOO Sunflower Chickens! Thanks Renee.

Okay, so I was at Renee's picking up feed and saw the Brinsea Echoglows in person, they are very cool. For those of us that don't hatch a lot at one time, I think they are definitely the way to go...only a broody hen would be better. Anyone else have them?
