Sunny Has bumblefoot! HELP!

Around Orlando there's gotta be some pet shops....call them and see if they can recommend a vet to you. Check with some of the wildlife rehab centers in your area, the local colleges/universities , etc.,.

Nettie reccomended the closed shoe to keep water out so her feet can heal. I probably won't take her for another walk for a month or so, till her bumeblefoot is gone. Then I'll think about ordering the open toed shoes. I don't exactlly live in Orlando, I'm actually right above it. In longwood. So yes, there is plenty of pet shops in orlando. But only a couple that my dad will take me too. I can ask the feed store? I'm not sure about them though, they don't really seem to care for their animals. They said feeding cracked corn is enough for a duck. I new that was wrong from the start. But it won't hurt to ask if they know a nearby vet...

Just big enough for her to stand in. A small sink basin would do the trick. Make the water deep enough to cover her feet but no more than an inch or so.
If you have a Walmart near you, a container the right size is usually between $1-4.

Nettie and I definitely recommend wearing shoes for walks when there's a lot of concrete or asphalt.
All of our ducks wear shoes when we go for walks for just that reason (a few hundred feet to the park from my house).

I didn't get a chance to stop by the post office on the way to work. I'll ship it out tonight after work and upgrade to priority mail (at my cost, of course) so you should get it in a couple days.

Thank you so much! Both of you, so far this is my first ordeal with Sunny and we're gonna get through this! I'm glad there are other people out there in life that have love for "worthless" animals, as my neighbors would call them. I've always been in love with them, and I would be absoulotly devastated if something happened to Sunny. Because of course, I hatched her! I incubated her for 3 weeks! I watched her hatch in my hands! And now she trusts me enough to actually want to mate with me! Another thing that amazes me is her bright blue eyes. She'll just cock her head, looking right up into my eyes. When an animal does that, you know that they are intelligent. I find it amazing that she recognizes me, as she always looks up into my face after I let her out. Everyone else, she slowly walks away...but never lets them touch her! Once again, thank you Joe and Nettie! If only my father would understand my love for animals! Don't let my age fool you though, I type like a grown man!

lol, you are definitely much older mentally than physically! I'm glad you take such good care of your animals despite having a parent who's not thrilled about it.

As for age, with a name like Nettie, most people assume i'm 60 years old. lol. I'm actually 25. I think most are a little confused when they first meet me or talk to me (like when giving away ducklings, etc.) they are a bit surprised that i'm not an old lady. lol.
