Sunnyside Rainbow Eggers Thread! *chick pics*

Luckily, after quite a bit of research, I have found that Ideal Poultry in Texas is apparently the best source for a small order of chicks. :)

Their minimum order amount is $30.00. For example, if I order five chicks and the total is $21.00, they would charge me $30.00 plus a small order fee order fee of $7.00. A heat pack available for $4.75. Shipping is free.

Ideal has an excellent selection and everything I am interested in will be available when I hope to order except the Speckled Sussex (don't want to wait until June for that one).
Thank you so much for this. I've been scouring the internet for a hatchery that sells small orders of ducklings that is not crazy expensive, the cheapest I could find until now was at Metzer Farms, where I could get 6 ducklings for about $80 dollars, which in my book is not worth it for day old ducklings.
I looked up Ideal Poultry, and I could get the exact same order(except with a magpie, which is a duck I've been wanting), for half the price and seemingly the same quality and guarantee.
I think my mistake (or theirs) is that I was looking for a 'hatchery' and as far as I can tell, that word is not on their website.
Thank you so much for helping me find a hatchery that specializes in small orders!

I know this is an old thread but I’m glad I found it! We just got some chicks from Sunny Side and have 5 rainbow eggers. I initially thought our Jolene was a barred rock but she looks just like one of yours! They threw in an extra so I wasn’t sure!

Those are beautiful eggs, I can’t wait! We have two other bred chicks as well and the rainbow eggers definitely have a unique personality! They were the first to start jumping up on the edges of the brooder and up onto us. I can’t wait for the weather to warm up so we can start taking them on field trips outside. Here is Rosemary, a very personable girl!

Awww! She looks a lot like our Rosemary! Our girls are all very friendly and personable

Sadly we lost Sage very suddenly to an unknown ailment a few days ago. Couldn't find a single thing wrong with her. Was happy and seemingly healthy that very morning. I'm still grieving. Thyme is currently very pale faced and skinny. She is happily eating scrambled eggs and layer pellet mash after a couple syringes full of some "magic juice". I'm going to take some poo to work with me and do a fecal.
