Sunnyside Up

Ok, the thing in the bathroom was a commode.

The thing you sit on in the living room was a divan.

I always had DINNER at noon and SUPPER in the evening.

See I am terribly misplaced....

I hope were not gonna start the hard COOKED thread, but according to the national egg board Eggs should never be Boiled it will result in a rubbery egg.

thndrdancr-I wouldn't trust anything Julia childs says she is gone, Go with Martha or dont bother quoting cooks, And no Rachel Ray doesn't count either

Actually the only 2 debate threads I've been in I didn't even start. With that said I was just making sure I was cooking the sunnyside up eggs right because they were REALLY runny. I didn't mean to start anything. How about if we're going to argue we should all just leave this thread alone and I won't ask anymore questions on how to cook anything ever again.

on a sewing list I belong to, we had a running discussion for 4 days on "the proper way to boil water for tea". Get enough people involved in any topic and it takes on a life of it's own...remember the vent posts....lol

Southerngirl try using a lid on your pan if the yolks are to runny. Will heat up the tops a little better, also soak the eggs in warm/hot water for 10 minutes before you cook them. So they are warm to start with, Idk if you keep your eggs in the cooler/fridge. That can leave the yolk still cool/cold by the time the whites have cooked up.

Scambled eggs here in So Cal (At least people I know) means you scramble eggs, water or milk in a bowl put it in the pan then toss them up nice an light. I have to agree with MD that omelettes need a filing or it's not an omelette. It's akin to rolling up a tortilla and going I have a burrito! No you just have a tortilla rolled up.... Put something inside it then you have yourself a burrito!

BTW I enjoy my scrambled eggs with milk, cheese, chopped ham or bacon and some onions sweated just right or even slightly caramelized (sp) and of course something HOT added like paprika, habenero or even chopped peppers from whatever I grab in my garden.

I love sunny side up, easy over, hard boiled, deviled eggs, ok I need to shut up now I just love eggs!

I was taught a sunny side up egg was fried only on one side like someone's avatar on Backyard chickens. Fried eggs are fried on both sides, or, fried on one side in enough bacon grease to gently splash over the top of the eggs to make the tops white, but not kept yellow like sunny side up. Scrambled eggs are the yolk and white mixed togther with a fork, blended together, in a bowl or skillet, and fried in butter, until not loose or runny any longer.....soft/firm. poached eggs are very gently placed in very hot water on the stove and kept together with a spoon until all the whites are soft solid. Coddled eggs I've heard of but I've never had nor cooked.
