Super African dewlap incubation

Here we are back with the day 14 check
This is basically what they all look like. These are three different eggs
And then weight loss for last week vs this week.
I texted the lady I got them from she said if none end up hatching she’ll be happy to send me more. She has eggs from the same timeframe from the same geese that are developing so we knew fertilization was there
When she shipped them to me she shipped them on a Monday but they didn’t get here until the following Monday could that be the cause of failure (it said Wednesday but for some reason it took very long time will pay for much better shipping next time)
allot of things can happen in shipping that we have no control over. Like getting dropped or tossed. Left in a hot truck for to long. If they were that late they could have just got on to hot for a extended time. Most of the time it all goes good. Im glad you have a good breeder who is willing to resend. Let me know how it goes. You have your practice run down. these might help for round 2
this is a 6 day egg and one of my shipped day 12

If you can see the one egg there something has started popping out of it? Do I possibly have a chance for a hatch here? I’m on exactly day 30

im not sure can you describe it for me. I cant see it on the photo. when hatching the first thing you should see is a tiny chip in egg shell.

There is a visible bird in this egg I can see it when I candled after I pulled it out to take this picture what I was referring too was this. I was afraid it may had exploded and was bad or something which is why I looked at it. but there is absolutely no odor and It just doesn’t look like anything I’ve hatched before

It looks like a broken Yolk sack. I eggtopsy most of my unhatched eggs to see what the cause was. They usually dont have any smell to them since they are late hatch death. I had one hatch this year that was a double yolk with only one surviving embryo the baby hatched with stuff that looked like that all around it. the spare yolk never when bad. There was no smell.

Alright back again!
They are in the mail on their way here and will be here in a lot faster time
It’s high 70s the 2 days they will be in the mail. When they get here I know to set pointy side down and rest for 24 hours should I spray them like I would when they are in the incubator to keep them semi wet?

No while there resting you don't want to mist them. Just let them rest. My shipped eggs hatched out a few weeks ago. 6 hatched out of 8 fertile there were 12 eggs lost one about half way through. One had a side to side saddled air sack made it, One tried to hatch small end didn't make it though.

They all had oversized air cells so you may not want to loose as much weight this time since they already lost a little being shipped.

I don't mist my eggs for the first 5 days till I see fertility. My incubator turns 45 degrees each direction every hour so I don't do 180 turns till 5 days. Turning is the most important for the first 5 days so the embryo continues to float free and dose not get stuck. after 5 days I do a hand turn 180 degrees at least once a day and mist. at 7 days I start short cool downs slowly working up to a 20 min cool down.

the reason for 180 turns is to allot the shell to release excess CO2 gasses. for the first week High CO2 is good for there development and needed.

Day 6 just did my first candle check. 3 out of 5 eggs showing very strong veins and are looking very good! I never even seen veins the last time so already off to a better start
