Ooh he's pretty! I wish I could keep roosters!! Unfortunately if this white one is a roo I'll have to find another place for him to go.( I'm crossing my fingers the black one is a female. It sure is a developed pink comb for only 3-4 week old though. I hope your SCEL/Marans mix gives you lots of babies (pullets!)!! More dark eggs!
Thank you, its comb is not showing any signs of redness or growth yet, so fingers crossed. I'd love to be able to see how 'chocolate' these eggs are going to be from one of these mixed breed. I have two Black copper marans from my previous hatch and they lay very nicely dark eggs. They aren't the friendliest of hens though, and I liked the white feathering of the super chocolate EEgers.... Isn't it ironic then that the two pretty white ones are males and the one black one is my only hope for a female!?! Go figure!I was gonna rehome him but he is very nice to humans and hens, so decided to keep him around![]()
