Super Hero Hatch-Along

End of Day 1 readings. Had a severe drop in humidity this morning (to 29%) and brought it back to 50%. Everything has been holding steady. I will have to watch the humidity closer in the morning and make sure I adjust before it drops like this.

Me too!! Been too long since I had baby chicks up in here!

I am really bad with chicken math…. But I’ve been informed that as long as everyone has a name then they don’t count! Thus, I have no chickens!

Day 3 update. Battling to keep the incubator temp up to 99.5 for the night:

• 6:22 AM:
- Blanket insulation was a success. Temperature recovered from the 98.6°F dip to a steady 99.7°F overnight.
- Humidity is rock-solid at 55.6%. Environment is perfectly balanced for the start of Day 3.
- Added 1/8 water since I will be heading to the office today. Removed blanket.

• 9:27 AM:
- Humidity spike to 60.4% noted (from adding water before work). Decided to monitor as it began trending down shortly after. Avg humidity remains safe.

• 11:48 AM:
- Sync after returning from office.
- Temperature recovered to 99.4°F without the blanket.
- Humidity is slowly dropping from the morning water addition, currently at 58.2%. The environment remains stable for Day 3.

• 2:55 PM:
- Reached peak stability.
- Temp 99.6°F / Humidity 57.4%.
- The environment has stayed perfectly consistent for over 3 hours without intervention.

• 7:37 PM:
- Temperature began nightly oscillation, dipping to 99.2°F. Applied blanket insulation to stabilize for the night.
- Humidity at 58.6%, predicted to climb to upper 50's/lower 60's overnight

• 8:57 PM:
- Blanket is on, but temperature has plateaued at 98.9°F
- Humidity rising to 61.3% due to insulation
- Monitoring for any further drops as the night cools.
