Supermarket Chick Questions

I have hatched supermarket chicken eggs. I wonder if Quail eggs are fertile here in the US?
It's a wonder that you could hatch supermarket chicken eggs ad if there from caged/battery hens then there won't be a cockeral in sight. But if they are free range I suppose they could have a few cockerals with the hens to keep everything in check, idk? The quail eggs probably come from a smaller supplier so they probably keep a few cockerals with the girls so the also have a steady supply of fertilised eggs for hatching aswell as for sale. It's a wonder that the eggs were still good though.

What did the supermarket chicken eggs turn out as?
They are Hy-line brown and white parents so they are a cross. Some lay white eggs and some lay light brown eggs. I hatched them from Trader Joe's and Whole Foods

These are sold as fertile eggs. They are from Santa Rosa California

I’m honestly just so happy it actually worked! This was my 3rd attempt at hatching supermarket quail eggs... my first attempt I had 1 egg that fully developed, managed to pip internally but sadly never hatched out. Pretty upsetting as I thought the little guy had pipped externally so I waited hours for it to start zipping not knowing it had actually died inside :(

2nd attempt none of the eggs developed at all.

3rd time lucky I got these guys :D I’m over the moon with them. The tiny one is quite scatty and chirpy but Pickle the big one is very friendly and tame, she let’s me handle and stroke her which is so lovely!

If it turns out I have a male and female I’ll look into getting couple more females :)

The last time I incubated quail I was male heavy about 60/40. Don't know why but most people seem to have more males when hatching quail. It would be nice to have two girls. If not you'll definitely need more females at least 4 girls to 1 male or it can get a bit messy. They will be fully grown in 8 weeks.
