Hello!

Are there any supplements/probiotics I should be giving my pigeons? What have you used?

Another question, do you vaccinate your pigeons/ should I be vaccinating? What vaccinations do you give your pigeons?
☺ Many thanks in advance!

I do not vaccinate, but I think many racers that fly their birds often do it. Vaccination can be done at home if you know what you're doing.

Probiotics can help. I supplement my pigeons' grain feed with a chicken layer pellet that has pro and pre biotics, and supplemented amino acids as well. My pigeons do not seem to favor the pellets, but they do eat it.

My pigeons water is always supplemented with organic apple cider vinegar (two teaspoons per 1 liter). Recently I have added raw garlic juice fresh pressed at my house to my large bottle of apple cider vineger, so when I add the ACV they are also getting a dose of garlic, which is good for them as well. If you do not wish to press the garlic into juice, the way I did it before was to simply add one clove sort of flattened with a knife so as to make it so the water absorbs more garlic, and add it to the water (one clove like that lasts 2-3 refills of my 1 liter water bottles).

My pigeons' grit contains the standard red stone (clay) grit, but I also supplement their grit with oyster shells for calcium, charcoal and a seaweed grit that contains iodine.
