Support Group for Abused Duck Keepers

@ruthhope i hope your boy is feeling better!
Butter is completely back to normal today, thank you @Ilovemychicks08

He was just cold, wet and miserable with the weather. He's a Florida boy visiting Northern Virginia. He had enough sense to go back to the shed where the ducks are billeted. He was dry and perked up by 8pm bedtime for all the boys, so I could sleep easy.

So many abused duck keepers!!

My Daffy remains defiant, shouting at me and pecking my ankles for attention when I am getting the boys up in the morning, or happen to be in the back garden during the day. His latest ploy for attention is only eating peas if I hand feed him. He ignores the bowl of peas put out for the ducks, and looks at me soulfully as I hand feed my special needs duck who cannot eat from the communal bowl. So now I have to hand feed Sir Daffy too.

Sitting guard over my ducks for the last 2 hours of the day light: There was a fox in the garden this time yesterday. My puppy wouldn't cooperate with being the look out and guard -- I had put her on a tie out placed to keep the ducks up by my rear porch. So I am now on fox look out
2 towns away from us had 10 fox pups, in a field. We have never encountered them with chickens or ducks. What type of puppy do you have?

I have a beagle. She would love to "play" with my ducks, but the ducks are terrified of her. However, when she is on the tie out, the ducks come right up to within 6 inches of where she can reach and torment her by quacking and huffing at her. When she and I are in the rear porch, the ducks come right up to the screens and quack and huff very loudly at her. Meanie ducks!
