Question...
When introducing pullets to laying hens things seem to calm down once the pullets become layers. Is it the same for ducks intro with ducklings?

I just now introduced my 6 week old Runner Ducklings and my 4 week old Mallard Ducklings to the rest of my flock. They have been in the large pen with the others but sectioned off since either birth or 3 days old for the Runners. Everything is going well. My other ducks are anywhere from 6 years to as young as a year old. I have 9 of the other ducks that I put them in with. All of my Drakes are in drake jail as I do not want the young ones to be mated and hurt. I sat and watched them while they were all out together in the dog pen where there is grass for them for quite a while and saw no problem. The rest of my flock has always been very easy to add ducks to, I have added some with no introduction at all and had no problems with them. I will keep a close eye out the rest of the day. My pen is very large with lots of places they can hide if there is a problem. I think a lot of it has to do with space available for them and the personality of your other ducks. My Mallard ducklings are all feathered out and the odd ball Black Swedish Call is too that hatched out with them. It is smaller but they were used to Call Drakes being with them before they went to jail for trying to mate the Hens, three of them to one!!! Bad Boys!!! Then they wonder why I call them my Mafia Drakes!! LOL

4 4-5 week female ducklings being introduced to 2 5yr old female ducks. Going well.
One adult duck ignores them. One chases a bit when they are near where she wants to be. No murder happening. LOL...
Just wondered if there was a chance they will become one flock in a few months when the young ones start laying.

They should and it’s may not take till laying ti become one
My flock is all one big group other then mom and dad who stick to themselves. Only cause mom hates her son who thrives on chasing her down to mate her
All the rest of mine who are from 3 separate batches are a big group that stay together

So happy to hear that yours are going well too. My Runner Ducklings are being paired up with my Muscovy Hens which have taken quite a liking to them. I think it is because they are all mostly white and they can relate to each other. The Mallard ducklings are being watched and cared for by the two Mallard Hens I have. Funny how they take to their own kind even though the smaller Black Swedish part Call is in the mix with the Mallard Ducklings as they all hatched out together.

when do Swedish Blues and Anconas start laying? From what ive looked up its Anconas are 5 months and Swedish blues are 7 months.

The adults and young ones are all khaki campbells. Hopefully that helps.
I'm surprised how well it's going after introducing pullets to hens last year. LOL

I have a mixed flock. My Khaki Campbells are totally ignoring them. My Rouen Ducks are ignoring them also and my huge Mule could care less if they are in there or not. The only ones showing any interest of them are the ones they resemble the most. I would think yours will do just fine being the same type on top of it.
