These chicks are 8-9 weeks old. I bought them from a lady who buys leftovers from hatcheries. She thought she had removed most of the roosters (her best guess of course). It's been 6 weeks and I'm thinking I may have 1 hen and 3 roosters. I also think only 2 are speckled sussex?

The one Sussex looks like a girl to me especially compared to all those other boys

But I guess time will tell and I really hope you have a pair. :fl

But yes, only two are SS. I agree that the others appear to be Welsummers but not entirely sure. They look like mine did though.

:welcome Two of the birds are not Speckled Sussex - perhaps Welsummers ? Sadly I think that the two Speckled Sussex are both cockerels.

Thank you!! I have googled this so much and couldn't figure it out. Welsummer looks right!
I didn't get the best pic, but one speckled sussex has a noticeably smaller comb. I hope I have at least 1 hen. Oh well, I just picked up 20 day old speckled sussex so hopefully that will make up for it!
