Back to the OP, I think bacon can be given to chickens, in small amounts, mind you. Don't want them getting fat!

You can pour it on an old dead possum and they'll leave nothing but the bones!

If you put bacon drippings on a live possum, he's a goner! If only we could make Claymores mines that would spray predators (and terrorists) with bacon drippings, the chickens would taken them all out.

That was my original thought too. And it wouldn't be any more likely than once a month or so.

Suet cakes for birds are guess what? Rendered fat. Bacon grease is guess what? Rendered fat.

Bacon grease is soooo fatty. And most bacon has nitrates and nitrites. IMHO wayyy to fatty for birds. Fatty liver disease is real. Leads to acites,salpingitis,EYP so I would not give grease.

Not at all. I admit to playing the fool a bit but no, I don't want to harm my hens. I'll keep it for the wild birds in the winter.
