I ordered the surprise box from Cacklehatchery.com and they arrived today! I've managed to ID some that were easy (2 ducks, 1 turken, 2 polish) but there are SO MANY (50?) and I was hoping you chicken lovers could help for fun. Bonus points if you spot a turkey or a guinea because I have no idea how to tell. I put an extra close up of #9 bc I'm curious if the patch on its beak indicates a turkey. Thanks!!!

I think #5 is a Sapphire Gem -- but that's a Hoover's Hatchery mashup breed, I think? But it looks *exactly* like one of my Sapphire Gems when s/he was a chick. We are still unsure of the final sex at 7 weeks old.

How fun to have 50 chicks! You keep them on a porch in that? Is the porch a sun porch with a door?

That grate won't keep out a raccoon :O

#1 is a Sicilian Buttercup, (that's a rare breed, lucky you! :) I got one, but he turned out to be a rooster. That was a bummer, but he's a beautiful boy!) #5 looks like a lavender Ameraucana, and I'm pretty sure #11 is a turkey, but it's pretty tough to tell. The other ones I'm not entirely sure. Excited to see what they turn out to be!

8 and 12 look like they could be Wyandottes--the splash laced blue and black or blue laced red varieties respectively.

The spot on the head of #4 indicates barring, so is likely either a (male) black sex link or a barred rock (either).

I've never even heard of Sicilian Buttercup! Thanks for your response 😊

Looking again...
#3 is a red-sex link pullet of some sort, probably a Cinnamon Queen or Golden Comet.

#4-- I'm also correcting my previous guess; it has feathered legs, so now I'm thinking Cuckoo Marans.

#6 appears to be a Tolbunt Polish

#8 - still thinking Splash Laced Red Wyandotte

#11 might be a Rhode Island Red

#12 - still thinking Black or Blue Laced Red (or maybe gold) Wyandotte

#13 might also have feathered feet? If so, my guess is Light Brahma.
