What breeds need help? (ie are so inbred because of limited gene pools)

too many to list

If it was me- I'd do exactly what you are doing. Do your research. Make a little money. Benefit the chicken-loving community without ripping everybody off. For the love of the species

I second the request for Cream Legbars. I first saw them in a book and was smitten. But then to find out they lay blue/green eggs...I was done for. I think importing any new PURE breed that lays blue/green eggs would be a very marketable addition to your stock. It would be nice, as a buyer, to have another option other than Ameraucana or taking your chances with an EE.

Cream Legbar for sure after reading last post! You'd want a bird that can tolerate the whole spectrum of weather in the U.S. or at least most of it for marketability's sake.

TOTALLY AGREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finding ANY decent dorking is extremely hard in anything other than Silver Gray. Many people that have white are having severe fertility issues. Black is also extremely rare and has multiple problems. I have seen stock with toe problems, fertility issues, color issues, disease resistance problems- culling is pretty hard. I have even seen people selling 'dorkings' that weren't really dorkings. So sad for a chicken that was once a favorite in colonial days and the original source stock for quite a few chicken breeds.

I would not recommend the "blue egg" laying ones that people are attempting to sell in England. Those are not true dorkings and are mixed.

Croad Langshans do not exist in the US. Who wouldn't want a chicken that lays purple eggs?

Croad Langshans. Chocolate would be a hot color as well. I know Greenfire Farms is planning on importing Chocolate Orps, but not sure how far they are in the process.

Croad Langshans or Chocolate Orps.

Edited for clarity.
