What is it you do in here?" Mint asked carefully, turning to face Saffron again. She smiled hopefully, batting her eyes in a way that made it obvious that she was trying to seem innocent and angelic.

She was not one to be sneaky, though at this point she was desperate, and already she was forming in her mind a way to slip out unnoticed if this young she-dog could just keep Saffron's attention.
