Mystery watched Saffron leave in a hurry, sensing the urgency in the she-dog's actions. He looked to Mint, who stood as if in shock, her maw hanging open slightly and her eyes on where Saffron had vanished out of the den. "Stay here," he said sternly, turning and following Saffron. He didn't hear his daughter sigh or see her roll her eyes as she flopped to the floor impatiently.
Seeing the truck moments before spotting the two she-dogs, Mystery gasped in alarm and galloped his way over. Wren had reached the opposite sidewalk and looked back at Saffron when she heard the medical dog's call. She tilted her head, not realizing the danger she had just put herself in, and then turned and continued onto the staircase, heading up the side of the building.
Meanwhile, Mystery barreled after Saffron, his eyes flashing between her and the truck. "Move!" he barked desperately, flying out into the street. His paws outstretched, he leapt for Saffron--the least he could do was get the medical dog out of danger!
