(I'm starving! Didn't have lunch... )
(Oh my gosh! Really? I could NEVER miss lunch... I usually miss breakfast, but NEVER lunch.

Quote: Rowan smiled. "Sure; you might as well, since you're gonna live here!" he said with a duck of his head. He turned and began loping away, gesturing for her to follow.

Almaz curled her lip in a snarl and rose to her feet. The dogs bristled and did the same. She rose her voice and her eyes burned like fire as she said, I already am one... I simply would like to have an Alpha Male by my side, but it looks to me like my first choice is a little uncertain..." She said that with such fierceness and anger in her tone that she sounded likely to rip out a dog's throat any second, now.
(BUMPED IT! :D)

Cyan snarled at Cerise, aiming to snap his jaws shut on her muzzle and silence her, but instead stopped himself. Instead he stood over her, angry and yet... On the verge of tears. Instead of inflicting the wound he'd been poised to administer, he turned away. Small tears pooled below his lower eyelids, and, though he had tried to keep her from seeing them, he knew she'd seen them. "He disrespected you... I was defending you honor... I... I... I lo-" he trailed off as he heard Teal announce his new role and walked away, putting on a firm face and marching away. He assumed that Teal would give him the role of Beta, but figured he'd just keep his trap shut and see what happened next.

Dixie stared up in shock, but her face quickly twisted in unbridled rage. She leapt to her feet and loosed a small snarl, though she didn't make it loud enough for the black dog to hear. Then she took her place beside Mystery, bumping his shoulder with hers to let him know that she was here.

Cerise watched him with pity and sadness, but didn't speak a word. As he left, she finally let her strong exterior crack, and she shook, though she kept herself from sobbing. She sat, feeling like a defeated dog. She had let her pack down by allowing Steel to have so much power... Perhaps it was best if she lost her position as Alpha...

Mystery was angry, but what burned inside him even more was fear. He knew it was up to him to stop Teal, and how lonely it made him feel. But as Dixie brushed against his side, he felt strength and warmth fill his heart, and he knew that with her by his side, he could do this. He could do anything. "Teal!" he barked out. If he had to fight to save his home, so be it.

Teal had been about to announce Cyan as his Beta when he heard his name called out. He knew that voice... A twisted smile crossed his maw. "Oh, little brother," he said, his voice cruel and his eyes filled with ice as they landed on the green-eyed dog's form. "Come to save the day, have you?" His tone was mocking, but Mystery didn't let it get to him.

"Yes, we have," he replied, his voice given power by his anger and new-found strength. And boldly, he stepped forward to stand below the ledge that Teal stood upon. "I challenge you for the position of Alpha!" he bellowed, his declaration received by hopeful murmurs from the Chroma pack dogs all around. He paused for a moment, eying Cyan, then turned to Dixie.

"Dixie," he said quietly, his eyes filled with fear, though his body language hid it well. He was scared for her, for what he was about to ask of her. How he desperately wanted to tell her to flee to safety... But he knew she was strong, and he knew she could do this. "I need you to get up there and make sure Cerise is okay, okay?" He kept his tone even, though it took effort. He heard Teal climbing down the junk pile to meet his challenge, but Mystery didn't move his gaze from Dixie, awaiting her response.

Quote: Cyan glared down at the dogs of Chroma Pack with a smirk on his face. As Beta, he would finally get the chance to repay them for all the merciless disrespect they'd shown him, especially when Cerise had demoted him... Cerise. His mind wandered to her and he briefly wondered if what he was doing was right. Small tears threatened to escape his eyes again as he thought of her. With an inward snarl, he pushed away the thoughts of her and stood proud, but not too proud, by Teal. He kept his pose dominant, but not Alpha-like, so as to let Teal know he meant no disrespect.

Celeste staggered to his feet and walked up beside Mystery. "Don't do this, bro," he pleaded. "Don't risk your life like this; you're simply throwing it away by doing so!" His heart throbbed in his chest and his muscles were taught with fear as he looked up at Teal's dark form, silhouetted by the sun. He shivered just seeing the dog, as though Teal was a ghost. His eyes rested on Steel's motionless form and another shudder passed through him.

Dixie padded up beside Mystery. "Okay... I can do that." she said softly. "Mystery, please, just promise me one thing." she said, her eyes glazed with tears and full of fear and worry.
