"I'm not telling you; she's safe, far, far away from here!" Rex sneered.

Delano's ears swiveled toward Melanie's voice, though his attention stayed with Rex. "Are you aware that Jargo has ordered us to kill her daughter if at any point in time she runs away?" His voice was stone cold without wavering at all. He made it clear, though, through body language that he knew where Melanie was, his ears still tilted in that direction.

Rex snapped threateningly, not to bite Delano, simply to tell him that he'd better stay away.

Delano snorted contemptuously, batting his paw at Rex. "I will not fight you," he rumbled threateningly. "But Jargo will be notified immediately. And I will be back if I am ordered to." Silent as ever, he turned to head back to the dens. He knew Jargo would be furious, but Delano was strong and he would take any punishment he was dealt.
