A weak smile played at the corner of Melanie's lips. Her eyes were closed, but her ear twitched. She thought of Banner's last words; "Tell her to find another mate, to care for the pups, to protect them...." Then she thought of how Rex had stayed with her, even when she was rude. She realized she loved Rex, just as much as Banner.Rex took it from her, licked it clean, and tucked it beside her belly. "You did it Melanie!" he smiled. "Banner would be proud, too." he wanted to say he was proud, but he wasn't sure he should. He wasn't even sure he should be here; he wasn't Melanie's mate, though he wished he was.
"Good. Let's get them. How dare they come here?" she snarled.
((I have to run out and get my hens in for the night--be back ASAP!))
(I'm reading Frou-Frou's page.)
Buck cowered behind Harli, his lip curled. Harli snarled at Endigo; "You can't run this time, you flea bag."Jargo grinned, then he began to walk towards the throne.
A storm was blowing in; the moon was hidden by dark clouds, the wind had changed from a warm breeze to a cold gust, and the air was frigid. As Jargo approached, a dark shape appeared on the throne: it was Endigo.
"There will be no fight!" Endigo howled. "ENDIGO!" Jargo howled in fury. "How did you escape?!"
Endigo sneered down at him. "You left me with a fat dog that can barely run. It only took me running past him to escape." he said, grinning, his white fangs standing out in the darkness.
(I notice everything!((I wondered if you would notice it...))![]()
Sonya gasped in fear as she saw the oncoming horde in the distance. She backed up, slowly and cautiously, until she was within the church den with the young pup Georgia. Turning, she put the pup on the ground and looked at her very seriously. "You may not fight, Georgia. Do you understand me?" she asked in a low voice.
Georgia sighed. "Fine..." Looking disappointed, she sat there without anything else to do.
Glancing around the den, Sonya spotted Nessa and the pups sleeping in the corner. She looked back to Georgia. "I have a special job for you, okay?" she said, offering the pup a small smile.
Georgia looked up with interest, though she resisted seeming too excited. "What?"
"It's very important, so listen closely." Sonya leaned in closer to the pup, who leaned back. Georgia's attention fully gained, Sonya began to whisper the 'assignment' to her. "I need you to protect the Alpha and her pups. Do you think you can do that?"
Georgia blinked slowly at Sonya, frowning. "I-I think so," she whispered back.
"Good," Sonya replied with a smile. "You let me know if anything happens." She smiled as Georgia tip-toed over to the Alpha, sitting a couple feet away and eying her quietly. Shaking her head, Sonya slipped over to the doorway and peered out to see what was happening. She couldn't fight and she knew it, but she would do what she could to keep those pups safe.
Rex nuzzled her. "Just get some rest. You've worked too hard." he said softly. "Your pups are beautiful."A weak smile played at the corner of Melanie's lips. Her eyes were closed, but her ear twitched. She thought of Banner's last words; "Tell her to find another mate, to care for the pups, to protect them...." Then she thought of how Rex had stayed with her, even when she was rude. She realized she loved Rex, just as much as Banner.
Melanie's sides fell into a calm breathing pattern. "Thank you Rex." A voice whispered weakly from the den entrance. Layla stood, her bowed; blood spattered her pitch black fur.Rex nuzzled her. "Just get some rest. You've worked too hard." he said softly. "Your pups are beautiful."
Jargo turned to glare at Buck. His gaze was furious.Buck cowered behind Harli, his lip curled. Harli snarled at Endigo; "You can't run this time, you flea bag."
Rex smiled. "No problem." he said. "I loved her too much to let Jargo kill her or what she loved." he looked at Melanie, sleeping peacefully with her pups. "Besides, I love her too much. I wish I could tell her so, but I don't know if she wants me." he looked directly at the black pup; the one that looked most like Banner. "Looks like you have grandpups." he smiled.Melanie's sides fell into a calm breathing pattern. "Thank you Rex." A voice whispered weakly from the den entrance. Layla stood, her bowed; blood spattered her pitch black fur.
Harli refused to go. "NO!" She snarled, standing ridged. Buck looked between her, and Jargo, and chose Harli. He stood next to her, snarling.Jargo turned to glare at Buck. His gaze was furious.
"Go back to your hole!" Endigo howled.
Jargo almost said no, but he saw all of Golden Pack there at the throne. Reluctantly, he turned to leave, howling for his pack to follow. "I'll be back, Endigo! And when I do, you'll wish you'd never been born!" was Jargo's last threat for the night, as he turned to leave.
