Endigo flipped, trying to crush her. "I won't hesitate to kill you now: you kidnap me, taunt my pack, and make life miserable: these are all things worthy of death!" Endigo roared.

Harli grunted as Endigo's body crushed her leg. "I would have to say the same." She snarled, and dove for his belly.

Rex smiled. How should he tell her? "How should I tell her?" he said, speaking his thoughts.

Layla thought for a moment. "Tell her what comes from your heart." She smiled, "Rex, remember, Banner loved you. He would approve of you becoming those pup's father."

"I just feel like I'm stealing them from him..." Rex mumbled. He looked at Melanie, and knew that now wasn't the best time to tell her he loved her, or ask to be her new mate.

Jargo ran up to Harli, and yanked her by the scruff. "Harli, save it!" He barked. "Save it for next time." he said.

"I just feel like I'm stealing them from him..." Rex mumbled. He looked at Melanie, and knew that now wasn't the best time to tell her he loved her, or ask to be her new mate.

"You aren't." Layla said quietly. Then her eye lids drooped. "Rex? Please call me if you need anything. I need to sit down in my den. Everything is happening to fast for my older brain." She winked, then padded from the den.

Melanie's eyes opened, and fell upon her pups. They were curled up together, their tiny mewling soft. "Rex?" Melanie whined, looking around.

Harli snarled, and pulled against him, her jaws snapping at Endigo.
