Harli snarled, and pulled against him, her jaws snapping at Endigo.
Endigo turned to leave. "We're done here." he growled.

Jargo looked at Harli. "What are you doing?" he asked, worried for her. "We're beat. And outnumbered. We can't go on until we have a bigger pack!" he barked.

Jargo just dragged her to Buck. "Take care of your daughter." he said. "Endigo nearly killed her, and I..." fear was in Jargo's eyes. "I don't want that to happen."

Harli's eyes were still locked onto Endigo as Buck closed his jaws around her scruff. "Harli!" He growled. She turned and snarled at Jargo. "Why did you back down?! We could have taken that flea bag down! They're weak!" She spat, her eyes blazing into his.

"No, Harli, they're strong! Much stronger than us! Much as I hate to admit it about those sniveling mutts, they're stronger than us." Jargo howled. "I need to go kill something..." he growled as he stomped off.
 
"Would you be my... I mean could I be your... would you mind if I was..." Rex stammered and stuttered, searching for the right sentence. He couldn't seem to find it.
Melanie's eyes danced. "Yes!" She whispered, her voice still weak. "Your mate? Oh Rex, yes! Banner would approve." She said her eyes glued to the tiny black pup nursing beside her belly.
