looking for any ideas on ways to stock up on protein items.
I plan on keeping this stock up mode going. I would rather find out we dont need it, while it sits in my basement, rather than wishing i had it. thought it would be better to err on the side of caution. my next stock up trip will be for non food items, t.p, hygeine products, etc.
scary times...

Foodsaver vacume-sealer - we seal up bags of rice, barley, lentils, cornmeal, etc.
glass jars or plastic jars used in cafeterias or restaurants also to use for that purpose.
Toliet paper, bandaids, peroxide, pain killers like tylenol & ibupropen.
matches - buy more then you think you'll need. seal some up so they won't get damp or wet
5 gallon buckets for hauling water or feed
rolled plastic, duct tape, candles, fuses for circuit breakers, light bulbs.

also, if you have big dogs like we do, we have them trailed to use a harness to pull smaller yard wagons so we get help bringing very small loads of grocery's from the store instead of taking the car, hauling books to the library, making short trips to the farm stand. Dogs are very eager to please and larger dogs IMO work great when given "jobs".
