Surviving Another Depression.......What Would We Need?

Well Im geting ready to invest in some more seeds for next year and Im looking for a couple dairy goats, was hoping to trade a horse for a few goats if I can find someone wants a horse. But we have of course chickens, ducks and rabbits. Thinking of going ahead and ordering 30 or so meat/egg laying breed so we can eat the roos and have some more egg layers.

Wouldn't Whiskey store better?

If we go into a depression we should have:
beer
wine
bread
flour
sugar/honey/sorgham
salt
spices
root veggies
frozen/canned veggies
frozen/canned fruits
milk..powdered...liquid.
more things that we have homemade and preserved/canned the better.
I think we could survive if we were more locavores

EVERYON NEEDS TO READ THIS BOOK!!! ANIMAL VEGETABLE MIRACLE by Barbara Kingsolver.

I really need to think about this. Target has Frey chocolate with 78% cacao. Very good and loaded with the good antioxidants. And also takes care of the chocolate urge. I need to find out if they ship cartons of it. We need to be happy when it's going down right?
