Surviving Minnesota!

Ralphie, sorry to read about the recent trials and tribulations of a Minnesota Banana Belt Chicken Wrangler, but on the bright side it will make for a good entry in the autobiography.

Jerry, it seems that the Walleye opener up here was pretty much a bust. My wife went to the cabin yesterday and all she and her fishing partners caught was a couple perch. It was very windy and cold out on the lake with difficulty finding any cooperating fish of any species. I am glad I had to go to pigeon race shipping.

Pigeon race today from Northfield. My birds lack training time so will likely be down the race results, but it is early in the race schedule with time to develop into a more competitive form.

Lets play a little game of name that Hatchery Mishap: I was sent this bird it is suppose to be a BA pullet. She (hopefully a she is 6 weeks old) but doesn't look anything like her other 3 sisters.)

Anyone's help and expertise is greatly appreciated. As you can tell I don't do well with patience or surprises.... She has a very nice temperment and will be around as long she continues to give me eggs. (About middle of the pecking order)

We're hearing some reports today of a few finding the fish biting on a few holes on Leech and returning with Limits Saturday Night and Sunday. Leech is not a Morning Lake--although everybody seems to line up the access at 6am anyways. We've since learned to sleep in.

Ed...It would be cool to experience at least one of those Pigeons races.

@Bogtown Chick I just got a text. The first egg at the school is starting to pip! It is a day sooner than expected but oh well. Very exciting!

The one egg that pipped has about a 1 mm wide pip only and hasn't made any progress all day. We can hear it peeping in there though. Should we do anything? Try to open it or leave it be?
