Surviving Minnesota!

I hope not cause she's 6 months

I love layers that is left behind by mites! I believe its there eggs. I would definetly treat for them.

My 5th white sport from this hatch is out of the shell, BUT I had to help her. She was sitting in the egg with the back 1/2 of the back 1/2 the shell on the right side. like an oyster on the half shell. I am guessing she broke free then stopped to sleep like they do while still in the shell and the shell dried to her.

I soaked paper towels in warm water (108 degrees) I have an on demand water heater so I can set the temp to whatever I want from the sink. I soaked her and broke off the shell and she seems fine.

I put her back in the incubator to stay warm and dry out. The problem is my auto-watering system. The hole at the float has plugged. I will have to descale it and go to using distilled water in it from now on.

Wow - the diligence and precision to help a chick hatch. Bonus HEN.

I looked all around town for you Ralph but you weren't here. We'll have lunch up here...just need you to drive north. Congrats on the white sports.

The girls are scared so we'll get them settled in. In the meantime I have photos balled up in the back of the cage but they don't want to upload.

The lavender flew out of the cage in my car and had a little field trip in the Chippewa national forest. Lol. Jerry said, 'we'll this will be interesting.' He got a fish net and we found her hunkered under a bush.

Names are Pearl for the lavender.
Hattie for the blue without the beard but barring in her tail. And the bearded blue is Kitty.

Now I just need Roger junior.
