Morning all.

I bit the lobster and lived!

Last night I went out and took care of the show chickens, Judy had done the others but is afraid to open the cages incase one gets loose.   Even the Dom pullets are becoming less mean, if not friendly.   The one did not lay an egg yesterday. She is such a disappointment now.   The Dom cockerels were standoffish and them some.

The PC cockerels are not friendly either but they can be handled.

Today is deer episode follow-up.  Dealing with insurance agents is clearly woman's work, but Judy is refusing because she says " I have to go back to work today, you can do it, you have nothing else to do".

I know now what she thinks of all the stuff I do here during the day, I am hurt.  I may have to spend the day in bed or my recliner trying to deal with her attitude.  I may be so distraught the deer stuff is not handled.

In addition, I have to go get our cow today. ALL BY MYSELF!

I luckily don't have do deal with insurance yet! But it's just a matter of time lol! Hopefully you can get that stuff figured out!

Good Luck with your show birds! I'm sending in my entry forms tomorrow. I think I'm gonna take 6 birds. Or maybe just a trio... Idk yet!

White calves get sold separate at auctions cuz they bring a lower price then other cows. It's a hassle selling just one calf all by themselves. Although with the bull we r using there is a chance she will have a grey or off black calf from her.


Look at these white calves! The white one I think is quite impressive! The peachy colored calves mom is older and I don't think she produces enough milk anymore so she will be going to the sales barn.




I guess I got rid of the pics of the peachy colored calf. I'll have to get some!

That's just racist!

That's what I said! The cattle business is tough! Everybody wants black cattle so the processor can smack the word Angis on the package and raise the price! At least that's what I was told lol! A lot of traditional breeds have been bred black like the Simmental. They were originally red and or spotted but once black cattle took over the market everyone started introducing Angus blood to there animals!

Judy is not a nice person!

She came in after she said she was leaving for work. She told me she left her bag on the chair next to where she sits for morning coffee. She asked me to get it for her because her shoes were "dirty".

I jumped right out of my chair as fast as an old man with a thousand miles of hill climbing yesterday could. She then said " what's wrong can't your old legs handle a little walk in the woods?"

I then called her the word that would get me on double secret probation again. She just laughed at me! I know now I will never get that insurance stuff done today.

Sounds like you all enjoyed the weekend as much as we did! After the beautiful morning at the farmers market (sold out of eggs and garlic) we decided to take an impromptu camping trip to Nerstrand state park. Holy cow was it a nice weekend to be out!!! There aren't many days left like that in this fall.

Came home yesterday afternoon and got a start on garage siding. That stuff isn't so bad to work with.

Ooo and I talked DW into letting me buy a trailer. Found an 18 foot flat bed a few towns over I'm going to look at tomorrow. Little does she know that a pass to buy a trailer is a pass to use it for hauling things too
