So I have read the standard for barred rocks at least the British version. It says yellow legs. Now mine are yellow but with black on top/front side. Should I be trying to get rid of the black?

Idk much about Barred Rocks but my friend on BYC has some amazing ones and I am gonna try get some from her this spring as a project. I really like the looks of her birds. I believe hers have a black color on their legs too. Idk though. I don't pay much attention to their legs!
Dusty yellow is what that is called it is allowed. Jerry said it has something to do with the double barring and being hard to get pure yellow legs.
Disqualifications are: yellow in any part of the plumage, two or more solid black primaries or secondaries , or main tail feathers.
I feel like Barred Rocks would be hard to breed up to standard from Hatchery stock. It would take MANY generations to get the right size and nice crisp barring. But maybe not![]()
