Surviving Minnesota!

Well wasted day today . Had the cyst removed . Took all day for a 5 minute procedure . Left at 9:45 got home about 5:30 . Sore nose and throat . They had me take some pills before . I think they came up during operation when I was on goofy juice .

Glad it was a quick one, jerry! Goofy juice, eh? Ha hah!

My NO SNOW wish didn't come true. I was out in the dark last night wrapping the dang run up. I was getting pelted with snow, rain, wind....ugh. I still have one side to go, but at least the strong wind from the north is blocked. I would have just left it and took my time today, but the wind can make a situation bad. Everyone is still hiding in the coop hopefully tolerating one another.

@NathanZee , I saw your pigeon story! Very cool. The males incubate the little ones? It almost makes me want one....almost.

Good Morning Chickeners . . . .  Good for you Ralphie! I am glad you did go to New Ulm and can enjoy the show. Of course I know you will tell us the results, not making us wait like when you were at the last show. It was fun to hear each of you tell of your adventure last time.

MN3pt - I know! Right? Being gifted with well-made furniture is so fun! For the gifter and the giftee.  And it feels so good to be able to see the floor again. Thank you Mom!  So are the two of you together all week because of Thanksgiving or does she live close?

Mom is here for the twins' birthday which was Wednesday. They live in Wisconsin where I grew up so definitely not close so a nice visit is always good. The help is even better!

Yea I think they called it twilight . Puts me out . Not happy with them . Made me take pills before surgery and then they come up . The soreness I am told by my SIL retired nurse is from the tube they shoved down my nose / throat during the crisis . SIL says totally their fault . They should know better . Ugh all this for a simple cyst that should / could be done in office . Turned it into a life threatening operation for big bucks . I had a cyst on my chest that no doctor would do . Tried 5 times in three years with 3 doctors . I did it myself Wednesday . Toothache medicine to numb it and a exacto knife to lance it . Doctors worried insurance would not pay for it I think . Cosmetic . Always asked does it bother you . I said yes it is there get rid of it .

Yeah, sore nose and throat from the tracheal intubation. I heard it can last up to a week or two, but that might be for more long term placements. Is your lip a bit goofy, too? You shouldn't have anything oral before surgery - usually a minimum of 8 hours. I'm surprised they were giving you pills. SIL is right.....big mistake on their part. If something would have happened to you, you'd be throwing dollar bills in the air! Your birds will be living the high life in gold cages sippin' on chicken champagne! Maybe the cyst on your chest is in a sensitive spot? Next time tell them that it hurts and is getting caught on clothing or some crap. Then, insurance will cover it and the Doctors have to do something. It's all BS. I love working in healthcare, but the insurance companies have become such a dictatorship. They push providers away from good patient care.

morning all!! no snow stuck here but boy is it windy and cold yet! just got in from putting in reflective stakes along the driveway. ground it firming up already. I think i will bundle up after this coffee and go get at my snow fence. no fun pounding in posts once the top layer really freezes!

did anyone else besides ralphie go to New Ulm? @Minniechickmama ?

Sad day here,!!!!

My Dominique cockerels were disqualified for stubs.

I never saw them. They were so small. The judge must have super X-Ray vision to see them.

On the good side she wrote excellent body type on the ones card..

Next time I use a magnifying glass

Well sorry about that. Sometimes judges are funny like that.
