Surviving Minnesota!

Destiny: I have two fighting 14 year old twins. So today was a good day...despite sending them out on winter roads. School was on time today for us.

I wish I had a teen living here today. I would teach them responsibility in the face of adversity, by making them feed and water today.



I have no birds outside, despite the fact I opened the doors at 7:45. They came out when I opened it but most went back inside and are in the nests (I bet they are not laying, but faking it!) I saw a couple over in the lean too.

I only got a half dozen eggs or so, Just a couple hatchers and the lone toad egg was cracked. The turkeys normally follow me on my rounds. Not today, only Snitch followed me and she complained the whole way.

For those of you with SS's do the girls sound whiney a lot? Mine have been whining for a few weeks now, They have water and feed. They are not giving me many eggs. They have nothing to whine about. They just like to whine, I think.

The Ragheaded bird brained Pollacks refused to back away from the water dish so I could water them. They wanted to stick their heads in the watering bucket stream. I would push them away and they would rush me. They still had a bit of water. Inside the pole barn the temps were in the 20's, not bad considering outside.

NO Maran eggs, No Polish eggs, No Dominque eggs. I think the weather is affecting them. Only one cracked toad, this was not a good day. I think I will be inside the rest of the day.

Your turkeys are more than ready. The one could be in the freezer before you get here, if she does not start going to bed like a decent turkey does...

Coffee is coming tomorrow to get her turkey, Snowflake. How many Guineas should I package up to go home with you?

Sometimes I send the boy teen out to do chickens. The girl teen is forgetful. She'd walk down and forget why she's there. Even though she is a chicken whisperer (the birds love her)...chickens are not priority to her. She would be texting all the way down and get there and what I asked her to do would disappear as fast as her snapchats.

The boy has a stinging tongue. He's quiet...but sometimes if I'm paying attention and tune my ear to him....he's egging her on. She usually is loud in response and if we're not paying attention....she gets yelled at, despite the fact the sneaky boy started it. And I am regretting now my decision to swear in front of my children. They are REALLY REALLY good at following in their mother's foots steps.

I'm addicted to Snapchat too. My parents ha to put a data limit on my phone cuz I usually go through my 3 gigs in about 3-4 days. But we r getting wifi set up on Friday hehehe. I am always on Snap when I do chores which usually means I take about an extra hour to get them done.

I also text a lot. It's a good thing we have unlimited call and text. I was on the phone for 5 hours the other night... oops... And was sending on average 400+ texts a day (over the summer mostly but still do a lot of texting now)... My dad tells me I talk to to many ppl lol

Ralphie you have not smelled vile until a broody Muscovy poops on you . It is some sort of defense . You try to check the eggs and they fly right into you and poo .
