I made a special treat for my legbars I have/had only gotten 2 eggs from last week for about 8 weeks.

I blew out and egg and put in Mustard, cayenne and horseradish.

I am a slob, but I thought the mustard on the outside would look like yolk and entice them.


As you can see I kind of cracked it when I blew it out and filled it. What a PITA with XXXL hands.



When I get to the coop, they have 2 eggs in the nest box. WHAT?????? Can they read my mind?

These are the white and white capable Legbars.


I took their eggs and left them this one, I checked a couple hours later and it was untouched. I am really confused now.

And this is the "fixed" egg waiting to be eaten.

Ralphie good luck with the egg breaking! It's tough but can be done! The easiest way for me to get the to stop was an axe with my old hatchery hens...

Ralphie one of your cats had an accident... It decided to go in a car engine... We have a replacement though so don't worry...

If it was a layer eating eggs, BUT my White capable Legbars are not going to see an axe as long as they are as expensive as they are.

Judy was not as heart broken over this as I was....I am thinking 3 is a good number if you have them.

I think the low was 34 last night.

I was hoping the snow and ice would be gone before the cold hits again, I am afraid that will not be the case.

If we get snow on this next weekend, I am going to have to strap pillows on my butt before venturing outside..

I can never find the spikes for my boots when I need them. Every year...
