Surviving Minnesota!

Well I am off to disinfect the incubator and fill it up now. I am going to set what I believe are from my Legbars too. So pure Bucks and mutts!

I have a couple of birds (BA, SS and BO) going into molt and another RIR that has been in molt since last November. She seems to be handling the cold okay but then I have a couple of heat lamps going in the covered run (which is enclosed in its splendor of the winter plastic.

And thanks BC. This small dog has had lymes but did test negative for it at the vets office this past fall check up. I had them give him a vaccination (since he was negative) and I should take him in to have him checked again. But then, he has never house trained totally. No reason for him not to be house trained. I have house trained many, many dogs (i.e., like 10 of them - remember, I am aged) over the years and have not ever, never had this issue before. I think I will take him in for a check up again and have them check for an infection. If there is one the poor little guy will have had it for the past 8 1/2 years.

It is my intention to get out and about this summer and meet a few of you in the Longville area. Jerry, IF you have any extras or are just ordering those berry plants please let me know. Ralphie - tell Jerry I am an okay person will ya? That he will like me

so I can get some of those plants. I may want some of those Americanas also because I am a Bogtown Chick Wannabe. I have a two-year old ISA (last of my original six birds) that is going to be processed. She never has made up her mind about being a hen or a roo and is mean - mean - mean! Sometimes she lays an egg and after hardening off my heart (I am beginning my third year at this chicken stuff) I am ready to eliminate her from the flock. New pecking order coming up but I hear a sigh of relief from the other hens.

Do roosters molt too? No one has ever said a thing about their roosters molting.

Is the white card the drivers permit? I know you started behind the wheel on or close to your birthday.

Nope it's the card saying you're ready for the drivers test (and license if you pass) :D

Does anyone need any chicks? I am gonna try find homes for the ones I have now so I have more from. The crops beak is being put down today sadly and I decided it's time to sell these guys. They are all started and growing good! Anyways just thought I would see if anyone is interested? They really are beautiful little birds and should be some interesting patterns on them.

I planned to order 3 of each of the 2 kinds as they are cheaper for 3 or more . So yeah I was looking to share . Catalog price of $9.50 each on 3 or more . I will be up in early May .

Just some random pics of the chicks from this A.M. The last picture is to show why little cross beak is being put down. He hasn't grown a bit since hatch... Poor thing. He is alive and active and can eat but just enough to keep his energy up.

I think one needs a new home... In my experience they will just keep fighting. But maybe it'll be different for you. Let them out at the same time but watch them

I think they should be fine but we'll see. I'm not sure which one to get rid of though. They're both amazing roosters that take good care of the hens and aren't aggressive. Rj will be turning 3 in September and Buckbeak(beat up one) just turned 1 this past November.
