Surviving Minnesota!

Yay! I got 14 eggs so far today! That is the most in over a week! But my luck tomorrow will be a 6 egg day. Either way my pullet eggs are becoming normal sized now too so that makes it nicer also.

Boiling a doz of the pullet eggs now. We like to use them on salads and the kids like them for after school snack. Now if only 1 of the ways I have read on how to get fresh eggs to peel easily would actually work!

I have 2 more chapters to read, listen to both lectures, and write reviews on for Grad school. I am finished with one class for the week. Tonight our oldest DD has basketball in Clearbrook. So I am picking up the girls in Oklee after school heading to Clearbrook. DH is picking up one son and taking him to a wrestling tournament and our oldest DS is going to a sleepover bday party. Then our eldest DD has a basketball game at LOW Saturday. I really begin to wonder how I fit it all in but it makes total sense on why our house is always a disaster!

Have you tried putting the egg in a glass half filled with water and shaking the Poop out of it. It really does either take the shell completely off or loosen it so much it picks off easy. I do it all the time now, and it is good exercise.

The glass has to be glass. Plastic does not work for some reason. I take them right from the steamer to the glass of water. Judy picks the shells off I shake the glass,

Ivie I have a picture here somewhere of "Blackie" in full molt a couple years ago. He barely looked like a chicken.

Jerry What are the sun and soil requirements on the Juneberries?

Holm you need more blue and green eggs!

I do! I want to replace most of my layers with blue and green layers! People really like them! I like the look of a mixed color egg basket! Oh I also agree with Ralphie on the egg in a glass jar thingy. That's what we do and it's great compared to other way we have tried!

Do you want me to save you some colored eggs ? I have quite a few fresh ones, maybe 3 dozen or so, Just mutts though. (EE).

Just got off the phone. The Minnesota state lab is stumped on that cow. Every test has cam back negative. They just quit. They have done what they can and now we just have to watch the others. Jeez... We think the cow went blind because when she ran off she ran into a tree and through the fence I was mistaken she didn't jump over it. And when my grandpa said she didn't look up until he talked to her. That never happens. They are looking at you before you even get over the hill.

I've been sort of looking for a yearling mare for a nice project and I found one!

400

She will be a year in May and is already almost 16 hands which is perfect for my height and bad knees!

No surprise that she's the spitting image of our 23 year old mare which is a Clydesdale cross also.
