Surviving Minnesota!

Somehow 9 chicks hopped into my brooder! Whoever put these here better come get them before I get in trouble :lau :idunno

Morning . Looks like rain today . The heavy rain is starting today they say . It has been a busy week . Had to micro manage my logger .
rant.gif
Not used to that . I am a self starter . So here are the highlights . He is a neighbor . So I thought he wold get it done and I would move or skid with the tractor . So Tuesday was beautifull weather but I had to quit at 10 for a eye appointment . So he quit for the day instead of cutting . Wednesday he didn't feel good . Got some bad fish for supper ( hung over ) . Said I gotta get some coffee be over . At noon I get a text . Oh man I left my phone in the truck and went in and sat down and fell asleep . Got about 2 hours out of him . One day he started at 11 and quit at 2 . Yesterday he did not answer at 7 . So at 7:30 I go over and walk in and wake him up . Got a most of a day out of him . The self employed. it seems can not hold a regular job where you show up on time every day and put in a full day .

Now he is concerned I may be gone when the buyer comes . How will I get my pay . Well you wait until I am here . To pay your share . Guess they never had to wait 2 weeks for a first check .

Oh h h h boy Jerryse - KNOW about this! Most of the sub-contractors that work for this (my DH) company are diligent and do excellent work and take pride in what they do. Then there are those few and I think he does not use them again. Except for his son whose definition of self-employed is that when a person is self-employed they work when they want to work. He is a that sub that creates the reputation of not be reliable and doing sloppy work. Second marriage, can not say much.

Good Morning Chickeners . . . . seven-year old gd has dance competition today and tomorrow. I can't wait to go and watch and see her. Nice day, too bad, because, of course, there is alot of outside work I could be doing. There will be more nice days.

Jerry how frustrating. Sounds familiar with certain sawyers with mills up here.
The subs on our house were HORRIBLE. The general was ok, the electricians were great, the excavator was my FIL and at almost 80 he works like a butt kicker still. Better shape than DH. The painters finishers and plumbers were theiving bass turds. I hate to think how they added to the bottom line of my house mortgage but I KNOW they were getting paid to fiddle Fart up town at the gas station drinking coffee at 10:00 am. The finish carpenter was on medical assistance after our build and it was for a back injury or knee injury - can't remember. Personally I think he was released and wanted to smoke pot for the winter.

Anyways I hope DH and I are teaching our kids the value and pride in a full days work. We're off to the resort today. Making some dinero too doesn't hurt.

Morning all.

A nice day before the poop hits!

Chilly but at least sunny now.

Jerry, I think that guy needs a few weeks in spin dry. Ivie hit it with the self-employed, you find workaholics that never stop working or people that are so unreliable you wonder how they know when the job is started yet,, still going on or done, I wonder how they know when to grab the toilet paper.....

Either the self-employed cannot stop working (a.k.a. family events; or under 10 hours a day) OR they cannot start working. My DH daily schedule is at his desk by 7:00 (for now - it used to be 5:30) and work until at least 6:00. A couple of beers and the news, dinner, hit the recliner with the t.v. on and fall asleep. Wake up, shut off t.v. and go up to bed. Every single day of the week. YOU want my DH to do a job for YOU. Diligent, honest, integrity - gives a construction schedule up front. Friday afternoons he b-lines up to Aitkin to be in the woods. That is where he relaxes

cutting wood a l l l l day long to clear the excavated lot for building. Comes home on Sunday and begins to practice his daily routine to get back in the groove. WHEN he does not go up to Aitkin to relax he does the weekly schedule all day on Saturday. Goes to church on Sunday and comes home after breakfast with his Mom and Sister and Brother-in-law and goes to his desk to work. That is self-employed.
