Surviving Minnesota!

I would love to have cob corn, but it is too expensive around here.

I have my Grandpa's hand crank corn sheller, I would like to use. I understand they shell walnuts too, but we have none of them around here either.

We found a pony for my kids. She will be here next week, so we were out pounding posts this morning. Thought I better do it today before the cold comes. I probably wouldn't have been able to do it, but we have very sandy soil, so we were able to get enough posts in to make a little temporary run for her. Now I need to go buy wire. I was going to wait till spring to get horses, but found a great pony, so decided to get her. :)

It is corn I picked from our field before the combine came. I picked a wagon load and let it dry then husked it into a blue drum. Been feeding it out slowly as entertaining treats so they can peck it off the cob. Soon I will throw out some sunflower heafs
