Surviving Minnesota!

Oh Banty. LOL.

I don't think it was a rock but perhaps when I've heard 2 x 4 sold as such I was willing to invest in an accurate description of said product so much so I drew up my own chicken coop plans and made it to order for 2 inch by 4 inch boards. HOW DISAPPOINTING to realize that this was not the case!!!!

:hmm

:lau

So then I just measured everything as I went and looked at the plans as a general reference only on what I was going to do. Any measurements taken from the plan were worthless after hours of drawing, erasing, drawing again.

I remember walking in to the house after some measuring and remeasuring and figuring out what the problem was and indignantly telling my husband about my discovery.

Liars.

:tongue
:lau That's a bummer, but awful funny.

OMGosh!!!! I laughed so hard at this, Sorry BC. Someone should have informed you on the facts of life regarding 2x4's way before you got into chickens.....

You could easily buy rough sawn lumber up there to save your design....

I've known about 2x4s true size since I was a wee shaver... Guess it didn't occur to me that some people might not have been taught that.

I was kept in the kitchen too long... I have yet to come across construction instructions that indicate actual measurements of those boards!

Lol. Everybody assumes people know or sit back and snicker at kitchen people.

Hey, at least you get to laugh at Ralphie when he tries to cook anything more complicated than a PB & J sandwich... Tradeoffs, y'know.

Ok so a travel day and a day of rest . I started doing things outside . Mowed a little . Well started out mowing weeds in garden . Rabbits ate all the green bean sprouts . Something dug up most of the squash seeds . So need to replant . Beans will be fenced this time . Shiro plums are getting ripe as are the raspberries . Blackberries some are turning red .All of these are early this year . Shiro plums and raspberries are usually early July and our local wild blackberries are mid July . No cane and no Alleve . Got to say not even I ever imagined I would head to the woods to log with a cane in one hand and a chainsaw in the other . :lau But I did it this past trip . Well I can be determined .

We are all ignorant about something but we can learn . Ignorance is the lack of certain knowledge . Now choosing to stay ignorant is another matter entirely .
