I might have a slight oxymoron here.

I just set eggs into the incubator for August 16th.

46 Cream Legbar, NO whites I hope. NO Creole, I hope.

About 36 PC eggs. Looking for the blue eggs carrier...

And 48 toad eggs.

I expect a low hatch due to age of eggs. They have been stored in the basement so the moisture should be good and they were cool, but my surgery and sickness caused the to sit too long. They either hatch or not. Makes no difference on most of them. I just need a few to hatch.

For a man that claims to be winding down for good on hatching, you set an awful lot of eggs.

Erli: mil and I are going to that blueberry farm on Sunday AM. I see they are open 9 to noon only and take break days when berries need to ripen. I hope they don't need a break Sunday morn as that's the only day I have. That will be my luck though after Saturday pickers I suppose.

The deer obliterated my landscaping down at the coop last night! Buggers. Usually Sadie's barking has them moving on. Shoot! Need a timber wolf for a day... lol.

Day before yesterday I got zero eggs. Yesterday I got two. The girls look rough. Feathers bleached and treaded.

They got corn on the cob pickings last night and shrimp shells. They loved that.
Kids are fighting a lot during the dog days of summer. They need school. They are going to their jobs today. Thank goodness.

What else... ? I think that's it.

Oh congrats layers on your winnings. That's awesome.

Bogtown, I was there last week Thursday, Sunday and going today again. After today I should have enough berries in the freezer for the winter so won't be going again. Hope the berries hold out for you!!

I gave a friend 36 eggs for her incubator she candled at 10 days and only 8 were good.
If she wants to try again she better decide soon because I don't know how long I'll keep this cockerel around.

Its so dang nice out today and I have to go back to work. I went fishing yesterday afternoon after the rain and farm chores were done. I'd rather be out there again....

Good lord I just got our school packet. How the heck do parents with multiple kids afford it these days? I have one just going into 1st grade and I thought costs for kindergarten were bad. Between the lunch fee, milk break fee, and activity fee I'm already up to $535. The school list of supplies they demand will be between $250-300. Time to start selling more birds!

Ralphie... Sorry but I don't want more Polish! Shipped mine up from top breeders in VA and NC and paid dearly. Cute yes... Yeah well MN winters took care of a good majority of them, especially on the frizzled ones where crest falls forward into the water. They lay sporadically and chick mortality is high. They aren't very intelligent, spaz over everything, and drop over dead super easy. I have enough futzy birds...

My parents usually try to minimize what we buy, with the 3 of us plus the 2 foster kids. Thankfully the one foster kid is in preschool and you just pay $20 for all their supplies for echool and it is offered by the school. Our school has a family activity payment where if your kids alltogether do more then 3 activities there is a set price that is cheaper then paying for each acticity individually. The clothes was not to bad until I started growing a lot, because I usually grow out of pants every 6 months. And finding pants for a girl who is 5' 10" and skinny is very hard, usually I have to buy shorter pants and use them for capris. Last year I grew out of them by about 2 inches after about January and we could not go buy anymore so I had to wear pants that are to short to school which sucked because the bus is so gosh darn cold. Usually for the clothes we go to Playdo's Closet or the Thrift Store, both second hand, or it would get way to expensive just buying 2 pair of pants for each of us older 3

$3.40 for lunches here so my younger sister and I pack, because I am sorry for what lunch is at my school it is not worth that. There was usually one day a week last year where we would have the most pathetic lunches, one of the most common was we would have a small tortilla with some soggy chicken in it and then some kind of beans on the side. I know there are health codes but seriously
